AP Government searches for new income in Liquor SaleAP Government searches for new income in Liquor SaleAndhra Pradesh government had let out a G.O. revising the rates of Liquor in the state. The new G.O. is strategically targeting to fill government coffers. Government had decided to decrease Excise Duty and VAT from 25% to 15%. At the same time increased the rates of all premium brands from 20 to 100 rupees.

This move will meet the demand of price rise by manufacturers and at the same time increase the income of the government by increasing the volume of the sale. Decrease of Tax will actually increase the sale volume there by bringing more revenue.

At the same time, the state government had spared the cheap liquor used by the poor. In fact the government had decreased the rates of Cheap Liquor from five rupees to ten rupees.
