No one would have imagined that an anchor with country bumpkin looks and an another with girl-next-door image would bring high TRPs for a regional channel which banks largely on the culture, language, and human-interesting stories.

V6 television channel in Telangana has been greatly benefitting from the presentations of Bithiri Sathi and Savithri of ‘Teenmaar’ news programme. Especially, Bithiri Sathi is ruling hearts with his gaudy appearance and using local lingo of Telangana. Savithri is also using the same route adding a lot of Telangana idioms and proverbs. Chevella Ravi and Jyothi are their real names.
Following the same route, there are similar programmes trying to benefit from the local lingo of Telangana. But, ‘Teenmaar’ is way ahead because of the selection of the news, different from the mainstream news and presenting it in a humorous way with sarcasm as icing on the cake.
There are other programmes too which prefer grammar of local lingo rather than glamour. This trend has become a big hit in Telangana like it happened in Hindi channels in the past.
