Confusion over Chiranjeevi’s Sankranthi releases is growing, but UV Creations continues to remain silent. While Kaaka has already locked January 13, reports now suggest that Vishwambhara is also being planned for Sankranthi 2027. Chiranjeevi is reportedly on board with the plan, yet the makers have not come forward with any clarity.
The latest buzz is that Amazon Prime Video, which reportedly acquired the OTT rights to Vishwambhara, wants the film to release during Sankranthi. An official announcement is expected in November, according to reports. However, there is still no confirmation from UV Creations.
This silence is creating unnecessary uncertainty. Kaaka, directed by Bobby, has already announced January 13 as its release date. Its team has repeatedly maintained that the date will not change. Chiranjeevi himself has also said that the film is arriving for Sankranthi. The makers are now moving ahead with their promotional plans, including the announcement of its first song.
If Vishwambhara is also targeting the same festive season, UV Creations needs to clarify its plans without further delay. An early announcement would help both teams plan the release gap, promotional campaigns and other activities in an organised manner. It would also avoid confusion among distributors, exhibitors and audiences.
Vishwambhara was originally planned for Sankranthi 2025 but was postponed due to graphics work after teaser backlash. There was also recent talk of a March 2027 release. Now, Sankranthi is back in the discussion.
Two big Chiranjeevi films arriving within days of each other could create avoidable competition for theatres and audience attention. There is still time to plan things properly, but that requires clarity first.
Why is UV Creations still silent? If Sankranthi is indeed the target, the makers should announce their plans now instead of allowing speculation to continue. An early decision can help both Chiranjeevi films get the space and promotional attention they deserve.
