The Indian box office has seen a historic feat last weekend with record revenues reported in multiples across the country. Four biggies from three industries have contributed to this mighty impressive achievement.
Jailer, Gadar 2, OMG 2, and Bholaa Shankar opened in theaters last weekend and they have grossed Rs 390 crores together. The footfalls are at 2.10 crore. All this at multiplexes across the country.
This is the highest ever tally of footfalls and gross collections in a single weekend at the multiplexes across the country. The collections are highest ever in 100 years history.
This has happened between 11-13 August at the Indian box office and this monstrous feat is now being celebrated by the theatrical and filmmaking industries.
This comes as a huge relief to Bollywood industry which has been struggling to pull the audience to theaters. Gadar 2, in particular has been wrecking havoc at the box office with its massive opening weekend. This is the biggest box office puller of the lot, followed by Jailer.
The multiplex chains are also evidently super happy with this development as they’ve set a new record in terms of revenues.
