No Chances Of 100-Crore Film This Year?

bade miyan chote miyan singham AGAIN

2023 was a cracker year for Bollywood. The year started with a bang with Pathaan exploding like never before. SRK’s comeback vehicle created havoc by collecting Rs. 106 crores gross on its first day.

Then came Jawan in September crossed the 100-crore mark on opening day once again. Shah Rukh Khan became the undisputed number 1 star in Bollywood after Jawan which collected 129 crores worldwide gross on its first day.

Wrapping up the year on an electrifying note, Sandeep Reddy Vanga and Ranbir Kapoor’s collaboration “Animal” stormed the screens, clinching an astounding Rs. 115 crore in global gross earnings on day one.

These three films smashed all records in Bollywood and became 100-crore openers. It was expected that this trend would continue in 2024 as well but things aren’t looking bright.

Hrithik Roshan’s Fighter was expected to collect 100 crores on its first day but the film disappointed big time.

Two other movies have hope, but things don’t look promising.

Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff’s Bade Miyan Chote Miyan will be released on Eid. The songs and teasers have turned out to be bad and there is very low hype for the film. It would be a miracle if the film collected even 50 crores worldwide gross on its first day, forget about 100 crores.

Singham Again releasing on August 15th has potential but the film is clashing with Pushpa 2, the most awaited film of the year. Because of the clash, it becomes impossible for Singham Again to touch the 100-crore mark.

So, it seems unlikely that any Bollywood movie in 2024 will make over 100 crores on its opening day. Let’s hope there is a surprise in store.
