Prabhas’s Adipurush hit the theaters on the 16th of this month and it has started off on a bright note at the box office.
The latest box office reports suggest that the film has grossed in upwards of Rs 300 crores at the global box office in its opening weekend, which is a pretty solid number.
Adipurush has grossed an impressive Rs 100 crores at the Telugu states box office in the opening weekend, it seems, which is another positive sign. Given the huge stakes that were involved, a strong start was needed for the film.
The numbers posted by Adipurush are excellent for a non-Rajamouli film in the pan Indian belt. The 300 crore grossing opening weekend is one of the biggest ever tallies for an Indian film in the pan-Indian belt.
In the USA, the film has collected a shade under $2.5 million till now. There was a minor boost on Sunday due to the long weekend advantage – Juneteenth on Monday.
The second weekend will hold the key for Adipurush now as a long run is a must for these big budget event films where the stakes are exceptionally high.
