“It was further alleged that in furtherance of the said conspiracy, she initially demanded bribe on behalf of CBFC Mumbai officials amounting to Rs.7,00,000/- from the Complainant and subsequently after negotiation, she allegedly accepted Rs.6,54,000/- as bribe on behalf of CBFC Mumbai officials in two bank accounts of other two accused. These three private individuals, and unknown members of the CBFC have been booked int he case” The statement from CBI read.
This is one of the first times the censor board is coming under the CBI radar over bribes allegation. Vishal submitted the proofs of his transactions where he paid the money to the board officials and those associated with them. This strengthened the case and now, CBI has gotten involved.
