On Sunday evening, social media buzzed with claims that Megastar Chiranjeevi donated one crore rupees to the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. A photo of Chiranjeevi handing a cheque to CM Chandrababu Naidu went viral instantly.
However, the donation story turned out false. The photo shared was from Dussehra last year, when Chiranjeevi contributed one crore rupees to support Vijayawada flood victims. The old image was recirculated, sparking confusion among fans and media.
The twist came as Tollywood producers and celebrities met Telangana CM Revanth Reddy in Hyderabad regarding the shootings strike. They too noticed the viral post and feared miscommunication, since Chiranjeevi was linked with AP CM while Telangana CM had supported them.
In reality, Chiranjeevi is not in Andhra Pradesh or Telangana. The actor is in Goa celebrating his 70th birthday. The source of the misleading donation news remains a mystery, leaving many wondering who started the viral rumor.
