Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Bhola Shankar is a disaster of Epic proportions. The movie could not even collect 20 Lakhs Share on Monday which is tragic.
Producer Anil Sunkara is hoping that Chiranjeevi will let go of the 5 Crore Post-dated Cheque and also do a film as compensation. But in industry, nothing is final until it happens.
Chiranjeevi, on the other day, had decided to take some stern decisions about his future projects.
Bhola Shankar’s very poor theatrical biz, satellite rights not getting sold, and the outright rejection of the audience prompted Chiranjeevi to rethink doing remakes.
The latest buzz in the industry is that Chiranjeevi is rethinking about doing the film with Kalyan Krishna.
Chiranjeevi thought this is a safe project. He gets to keep 65 Crore, his daughter would receive at least 20 Crore, and even if another 50 Crore goes into the making. The film would be safe for 130-135 Crore Pre-biz including theatrical and non-theatrical.
But Bhola Shankar’s rejection means all this is doubtful.
Moreover, there is a strong buzz in the market that this film is a remake of the Malayalam film, Bro Daddy.
Writer Prasanna denied that but the doubts are still on.
As per the rumors in the Filmnagar, slight changes have been made to Bro Daddy.
In the original, Chiranjeevi’s character is married and his son makes a girl pregnant even before marriage. At the same time, Chiranjeevi’s wife also becomes pregnant. Bro Daddy is all about that embarrassment.
But then, rumors say the script is tinkered with so that the young hero is actually Chiranjeevi’s Menalludu. And Chiranjeevi is not married but runs into his past lover when he tries to solve Menalludu’s problem which breaks the hell loose.
Chiranjeevi will take a decision about his next film only after he comes from holiday. Kalyan Krishna and Prasanna will be given preference to tell a new story. But many calculations will change as it looks like Chiranjeevi has to lower his remuneration and the entire Business model has to be reworked.
Dil Raju planned a film with Chiranjeevi and Anil Ravipudi after Kalyan Krishna’s film. But the senior producer will also keenly observe Chiranjeevi’s coming decisions to take a call.
