Sree Vishnu has been delivering consecutive successful films with his trademark entertainers. Now, he is coming with Comrade Kalyan, an entertainer set against a serious backdrop involving Naxals. Janakiram Marella is directing the film, with Venkata Krishna Karnati and Seetha Karnati producing it, while Kona Venkat is presenting it.
The movie is releasing on 9th October, and the makers interacted with the media ahead of its release. Presenter Kona Venkat stated that they had to deal with censor objections and approach the Revising Committee to obtain a U/A certificate and confirm the release. He said that the movie is intended to entertain audiences.
Kona Venkat further revealed that they did not want to hurt anyone but wanted to use a serious backdrop involving Naxals to tell an entertaining story. However, they faced some difficulties during the certification process. He stated that they had watched the final copy of the film and were confident about its reception.
Sree Vishnu said, “Comrade Kalyan is a Dasara entertainer which we hope will appeal to audiences of different age groups. We sincerely made this film and are confident about its critical and commercial reception.” He further clarified that he did not undermine Telugu films and only mentioned that full-fledged dramas are not their usual approach.
He explained that they did not want to distract audiences from the film’s comedic tone, and hence, the story has been presented in an entertaining manner. Vijai Bulganin’s songs, along with the teaser and trailer, have drawn attention to the film. Mahima Nambiar and Radhikaa Sarathkumar are playing prominent roles, with Vennela Kishore, Sathya and Sudharshan as part of the ensemble cast.
