A fresh box office clash is set to grab attention this summer. Adivi Sesh and Mrunal Thakur’s film Dacoit will release alongside Akshay Kumar’s Bhooth Bangla on April 10, 2026. The simultaneous release has sparked early buzz across trade circles and fans alike.
In the Hindi belt, Bhooth Bangla is expected to dominate the screens. Akshay Kumar enjoys strong popularity in North India, while Adivi Sesh is still building his presence in that market. After action heavy films like Dhurandhar 2 and Toxic, audiences may lean towards a lighter entertainer.
This is not the first time Adivi Sesh has clashed with Akshay Kumar at the box office. Earlier, Major and Samrat Prithviraj released around the same period. Despite boycott trends and a challenging phase for Hindi cinema, Akshay’s film earned more, while Major collected around 10 to 13 crores.
Speaking in an interview, Adivi Sesh compared the competition to fish in the ocean and described his film as a golden fish. Yet, Priyadarshan’s Bhooth Bangla carries significant hype. Trade analysts believe the strong buzz around the horror comedy may pose a serious challenge to Dacoit.
