Deva Katta backs critics on negative reviews

Deva Katta is an upcoming director in Telugu who has made some critically acclaimed movies in the past like his debut Vennela and Prasthanam. While both the films didn’t receive enough moolah they earned him enough reputation to get a rising top star like Naga Chaitanya to accept the film. That is how Autonagar Surya came into picture and much was expected due to their combination.

But much to everyone’s surprise the film opened to negative talk both among the audience and critics. The blame was squarely put on the commercial elements in the second half along with comedy which looked very substandard. Due to the extreme negative feedback the comic portions in the film have been deleted with immediate effect. In the end this deletion has made the director realize when there is enough matter in the subject one doesn’t need comedy fillers in between to entertain the audience, the subject itself will take care of it. This is true for any type of film but it’s unfortunate that the director had to learn this way post the release of the film.

Talking about negative reviews all over about his film, director wrote on his social page “I don’t agree wth all d frnds who criticise ratings & critics. prasthanam was not rated above 3. so no one does it on purpose When there is life in a movie, it will find itself no matter what. I respect the fact everyone is doing their job as best they can”.
