In the age of social media, a single statement can sometimes be blown out of proportion, leading to unnecessary uproar and controversies. Recently, in a video featuring Kajol, she was asked what secret she would like to know from Shah Rukh Khan. In a light-hearted manner, Kajol jokingly responded that she would like to inquire about the real collection of the movie Pathaan.
Despite Kajol’s playful tone and subsequent positive remarks, some netizens with an unfortunate lack of discernment twisted her words, creating a needless uproar. Shah Rukh Khan fans started trolling Kajol because they felt she insulted their idol.
Especially a section of people on social media who participated in boycott trends and supported the vandalism of theaters playing Pathaan, some fans of other heroes like Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar, and also a group of fans of South Indian heroes who wanted to prove their supremacy over Bollywood, started making comments that Pathaan’s Rs. 1050 crore collections were fake. The collections might be inflated by 5–10%, which is normal for any film, but it’s foolish to say the collections of Pathaan are fake.
It’s also true that in Bollywood, stars don’t digest the success of other heroes and, directly or indirectly, try to run them down due to jealousy.
Pathaan is an undeniable blockbuster. Shah Rukh Khan rightly deserves the credit and success he got with Pathaan. He single-handedly delivered a 1,000-crore blockbuster when Bollywood was struggling to even cross 100 crore. His next film, Jawan, is also carrying great hype and is sure to open big.
