Escalated cost Pouring water on Vizagites dreams!

vizag metro trainThe experts in geotechnical engineering and soil mechanics are delivering a bad news for Vishakapatnam people who are eagerly waiting for the promised Metro Rail Project to the city. Recently the soil along the three proposed Metro corridors is being tested and it is revealed that the soil there possesses multiple layers which may lead to a higher cost of the construction of pillars.

Metro Rail Project pillars need hard soil so as to make them durable but the Port City does not have a full portion of hard or disintegrated soil. According to estimates, the 39-km long VMR may have around 1,250 to 1,300 pillars.

Expert team from a Jaipur-based geotechnical engineering consultancy is expected to take up the soil test from March 20. The company is currently testing the soil for Vijayawada Metro.
