The Telangana government has announced the winners of the Gaddar Film Awards 2025. The official award ceremony will take place on March 19, on the occasion of the Ugadi festival, when the state government will present the honors to the winners.
Among the films, Raju Weds Rambai and Champion emerged as the biggest winners, securing the highest number of awards. Actor Naga Chaitanya won the Best Actor award for his performance in Thandel, while actress Rashmika Mandanna received the Best Actress award for the film The Girlfriend.
However, the announcement has also triggered discussion on social media. Many users pointed out that the Best Actor and Best Actress awards went to films produced by Allu Aravind’s Geetha Arts.
This caught attention because there were earlier reports of tensions between actor Allu Arjun and the Telangana government led by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy during the controversy related to the Pushpa 2 stampede incident.
Despite that earlier situation, the fact that two Geetha Arts movies received the top two awards from the state government has surprised many. However, many also pointed out that Allu Arjun himself was awarded Best Actor award for Pushpa 2 last year from the same government, so Thandel and Girlfriend winning top awards is no big deal.
Several fans on social media even praised Allu Aravind, suggesting that he may have played a role in maintaining positive relations between the film industry and the government despite past friction.
