PS Mithran who made a solid debut with Irumbu Thirai (Abhimanyudu in Telugu) is back with a new outing. The movie is titled Hero, and as the title suggests, it is a ‘Superhero’ flick.
Right from the announcement of Hero, there has been a curiosity about the movie. It is the combination of director PS Mithran with upcoming Tamil star Shivakarthikeyan. The latter known for mass entertainers is making conscious effort to do strong content oriented cinemas from time to time.
The teaser of Hero draws us in from the start. The dialogue works and the whole set up involving the education backdrop seems interesting. The introduction of various characters with that final shot makes one curious to know more.
Hero marks the South India debut of Bollywood actor Abhay Deol. Arjun, who was seen in the director’s debut Abhimanyudu is once again playing a vital part here as well. Kalyani Priyadarshan is the heroine.
Check out the teaser below. A release date for Hero is not officially announced yet, but it is likely to be around Tamil New Year. It will be interesting to see how the audience receives Shivakarthikeyan in a ‘content-oriented’ movie after Velaikkaran.
