Recently, the makers of Tamil actor Vijay Antony dropped a new poster of the film and it has caught the attention. In the poster, the female lead in the film, Mirnalini Ravi is seen with a liquor bottle in her hand while Vijay is seen with a jug of milk.
When asked to explain the poster, and how he justifies the heroine drinking alcohol while there is an increased commotion to decrease the impact of alcoholism in general, here is what Vijay Antony said.
Vijay said he doesn’t support alcoholism of any sort but if the discussion is about drinking alcohol, the same standards apply to men and women. “If a man is allowed to drink, so should women. I’m not promoting alcohol consumption but when it is indeed done, both men and women should be given equal grounds.”
Vijay added that people are reading too much into the poster of Romeo in which the female lead is seen drinking alcohol. He said there is no need to discriminate on this front.
