Case Filed To Stop Adipurush Screening

Adipurush Adipurush, a big budget action epic featuring Prabhas in the central role hit the theaters on 16 June. The film is based on the Hindu mythology of Ramayan.

Incidentally, a case has been filed against Adipurush at the Delhi High Court by an advocate named Vishnu Gupta.

In his written complaint to the court, the advocate seriously questioned the credibility of Adipurush.

“They made this Adipurush saying it’s a retrying of Ramayan. But the facts are clearly distorted in this film. They showed Indian-born Hindu, Ravan with beard which is objectionable” the complaint read.

It is added that Ramayan is a holy belief for many and this is belittled and disrespected in Adipurush which has seriously objectionable presentation of several key characters from Ramayan.

“These scenes should either be removed from Adipurush or the film’s screening should he stopped immediately” it is mentioned in the court case.

Notably, Shiv Sena MP Priyanka Chaturvedi had also tweeted out that the makers of Adipurush should apologise for showing Ramayan in poor light with too many cinematic liberties. Well, Adipurush sure is facing a fair few hurdles after its release.
