Prabhas’s Kalki had its grand theatrical debut on the 27th of this month and the film has now posted good revenues in the domestic and overseas markets. Coming to the Hindi box office, the film has fared surprisingly well on its second day there.
After a decent Rs 21-crore opening day start, the film bettered the number slightly to post Rs 22 crore on the second day.
With this, the film has grossed in the range of Rs 43 crores in 2 days and a lot will depend on today’s collection which is expected to be a bit shaky. The finale between England and India is to be played today and this would have a say in the collections of the film in key belts like Mumbai.
If Kalki can hold in the range of Rs 20 crore today, the tally will be up to Rs 63-64 crore. Then, with a mega Sunday, the film could well be hitting the Rs 90 or even a Rs 100 crore weekend mark in the Hindi belt alone which would be a huge deal.
After a positive start in the mass belts like UP and Bihar, Kalki has reportedly picked up in the urban pockets as PVR INOX saw a substantial rise in Mumbai and Punjab. This is a positive upswing for the film, we must say.
With this positive trend on the second day, it is likely that Kalki will hold well over the weekend and it could be posting big numbers by Monday.
