The 60 Police Stations in Hyderabad city will very soon come nearer to people. The department has decided to use social networking sites extensively to come closer and accessible to people so that exchanging of ideas and placing of complaints will become easy. Each of all the 60 Police stations will have a Facebook page starting from second week of this month. A team of three cops, headed by the Station House Officer, will handle the page in each police station.
They will be taking complaints on various problems and will also provide anonymity in cases like eve teasing, child labour etc. Those who do not want to reveal their identify can post a message to Facebook page. The central IT team of police at Basheerbagh will train the teams about how to manage these pages and will also take care of technical operations and fix bugs. It is said that the Telangana state IT and panchayat raj minister K.T. Rama Rao is instrumental in bringing the radical change in Police functioning which will make Hyderabad more safer to live in.
