Jailer 2 is back in the news for an interesting reason. Rajinikanth had recently said that the shooting of the film was complete, but the latest update suggests that the Superstar has once again joined the sets.
According to the latest reports, director Nelson and his team are reshooting some portions of Jailer 2, and Rajinikanth is now part of this work. The reason behind the reshoot has not been officially explained, but the development has naturally raised questions about the film’s final cut.
This is also important because Jailer 2 is currently scheduled for October 15. The release date was officially announced by Sun Pictures, and the production house continues to list the same date on its website.
However, the reshoot has once again brought postponement talk into the picture. Earlier reports in June had already suggested that around 30 days of material was being reshot, with Deepavali being discussed as an alternative release window.
Now that Rajinikanth himself has returned for additional work after the reported wrap, the October deadline will be something to watch closely. The makers still have not announced any change to the release date.
For now, the interesting part is not simply that Jailer 2 is in reshoot mode. It is that the Superstar had already moved on to his next film, only to return for additional work on Nelson’s sequel.
