Distributors are not opening advance bookings for Kalki 2898 AD in Mumbai. Manoj Desai is very upset about this. This isn’t the first time this has happened with a Prabhas film. The same issue occurred with Salaar.
He says only 3D shows are allowed to open bookings. He spoke to Prabhas’ close associate about the problem. There are only two days left, and they still can’t open bookings. He alleges that distributors want to make more money from multiplexes as the ticket prices are low in his theaters.

As of Monday at 11:15 PM, Kalki 2898 AD has sold 29,500 tickets in the top 3 national chains, PVRInox and Cinepolis. PVRInox sold 22,300 tickets, and Cinepolis sold 7,200 tickets.
Anil Thadani’s AA Films is releasing Kalki in North India, aiming for 3500 screens (3250 in Hindi) on June 27. Advance bookings for the Hindi version opened on Sunday night, with a better-than-expected response.
If this trend continues, Kalki could surprise everyone at the box office in Hindi markets. Sanjay Cineplex in Bihar sold over 300 tickets in less than 12 hours, showing strong demand for the film.
The big World Cup semi-final involving India on Thursday might affect evening and night show numbers.
However, with positive reviews, the film could still reach close to the Rs 25 crore mark. These are early days, but there is hope that the momentum will continue on Tuesday and Wednesday to hit the predicted numbers.
Any start around the Rs 20 crore mark would be good for Kalki in Hindi, as there’s a weekend ahead, and the film will have a two-week run at the box office.
