Kalki 2898 AD

Anticipation is building for the upcoming sci-fi epic Kalki 2898 AD as its release date of June 27, 2024, approaches. Starring Prabhas and directed by Nag Ashwin, this highly awaited film promises to be a grand spectacle.

Predicting the first-day earnings for Kalki 2898 AD is a bit tricky because the hype is good in Telugu states, superb in the US, and low in Hindi and other languages.

Prabhas’ last film, Salaar, earned about 160 crores globally on its first day, with a 90-crore share. It performed well in various regions: great in Telugu states, fantastic in Kannada states, impressive in the US, and decent in Hindi markets. It ended its lifetime with around 550 crores gross worldwide.

Before Salaar, Adipurush also had a strong start with 125 crores gross worldwide and a 60-crore share on its first day. It did particularly well in Hindi markets on its first day. Adipurush’s lifetime business wrapped up at 360 crores gross due to bad word of mouth.

Now coming to Kalki 2898 AD, ideally, it should have targeted the 200-crore mark worldwide gross on its first day, due to its humongous star cast, huge budget, and other factors.

However, due to mixed feedback on promotional material, it would be tough for Kalki 2898 AD to touch the 200-crore mark.

Realistically speaking Kalki 2898 AD would target the first day worldwide gross of around 135-150 crores. This is the prediction seven days before the release of the film and things can change in the next few days.

It would be great if could cross the 150-crore mark on its first day. But a lot depends on the second trailer and how the bookings pan out in the next few days, especially in Hindi belts.

This is another sureshot 100-crore opener for Prabhas. He has now Baahubali 2, Saaho, Adipurush, Salaar, and now Kalki 2898 AD on this list. If not for Radhe Shyam, he would have had a double hattrick of 100-crore openers.
