Nag Ashwin held a Q&A with the media today and addressed the topic of including numerous cameos in a serious film like Kalki 2898 AD. There was genuine criticism regarding the inclusion of several unnecessary funny cameos, many of which went unnoticed, but were included because the director knew the individuals personally.
During the Q&A session, when asked about this, Nag Ashwin mentioned that he wanted to pay tribute to RGV and Rajamouli for their contributions to the movie industry, which was the reason for including the cameos.
However, on social media, people are making funny comments about why Jathi Ratnalu director Anudeep had a brief cameo. Is this also a form of tribute to him?
“This justification by the director did not come across as convincing, especially when someone like Ram Gopal Varma has been making a living off morphed pictures and B-grade films for several years,” commented a user on social media, while Anudeep laughed from the corner.
