Keerthy Suresh has spent years stepping into characters written by others. Now, she has been quietly working on stories of her own, and one of them could eventually take her in a completely new direction. While promoting her upcoming Netflix project Akka, the actress revealed that she has been writing for the past couple of years and hopes something concrete will emerge from it.
Keerthy is not ready to announce a directorial debut just yet. In an interview with Variety India, she admitted that she is still figuring out what to do with the stories she has been developing. They may become projects of her own, but she has no immediate plans to step behind the camera.
What makes this interesting is that Keerthy has not rushed to turn her interest into a big announcement. She wants the work to lead somewhere naturally rather than direct a film simply for the sake of becoming a director. The genre of her stories also remains under wraps, leaving the door open to several possibilities.
Production is another avenue she might explore someday, but her answer came with a dose of honesty. Keerthy Suresh joked that she would consider investing in films only when she could afford to lose that kind of money.
For now, acting remains her focus, but there is clearly another creative side waiting to find its place. Keerthy may not have a film to announce yet, but the next story associated with her could be one she writes herself.
