There is everywhere on media that star writer turned producer Kona Venkat is going to make a crime comedy called ‘Shankarabharanam’ with young hero Nikhil. Surya is continuing his success spree and Kona Venkat’s maiden production venture ‘Geetanjali’ tasted success at box-office. Hence the combo seems interesting.
Coming to the title of the film, it is lot disturbing to the cine lovers that Kona decided to use ‘Shankarabharanam’ as the title for a crime comedy. ‘Shankarabharanam’ is the title of K.Vishwanath’s movie released in 1980 which received immense critical acclaim all over the world and brought humungous fame to TFI.
It is a musical drama, which is listed among hundred greatest films of all time by CNN-IBN. It won four National Awards for different categories and remains the one and only film after ‘Mayabazar’, aa the most accalimed film for it’s path breaking concept based on classical music & human relationships and starring a 40 plus hero J.V.Somayajulu and a popular item girl of that time Manju Bhargavi in the lead.
‘Shankarabharanam’ makes every Telugu Cine-lover proud for all the credits and the effort of Kala Thapasvi K.Vishwanath. Though many of yesteryear films’ titles are being used again for the latest films, is it fair to touch the classic which won such immense fame to the Telugu Film Industry? Hope Kona Venkat is listening?
