The details divulged so far are, Ramayana is going to be made into a three-part film with a budget of approximately 500 Cr. It will be having a 3D release in three languages Telugu, Tamil and Hindi simultaneously.

The obvious question that comes to one’s mind besides the immediate comparison with Baahubali is who is going to direct this mammoth venture? Will it be a Telugu director or anyone from South India or anyone from Bollywood? Who could give this project a big boost with his attachment? Unfortunately, no big name comes to the mind as many are busy with their respective projects. Will the makers approach it the Randamoozham (Malayalam epic 1000Cr movie starring Mohanlal) way and take an unknown as a director?

In both the cases mentioned above, the casting has to be super solid which brings us to another big issue. Which actors will be part of this movie? Who among the present stars can give time for three-part historical? As one can see, there are so many problems here for the film to generate hype on the same level as Baahubali (part 1).

In the past Allu Aravind made Badrinath looking at the huge success of Magadheera. Is Ramayanam going to be a similar case? As it is, the story is made very often unlike say the Mahabharatam. Let us wait and see how this whole project pans out to generate buzz across India. As of now, there is a lackluster response to the announcement.
