Chandra Babu is the visionary brain behind the IT boom in Hyderabad and he wants to replicate the same in the new Andhra Pradesh. Upon the Chief Minister’s orders, officials are working over time to identify land for various proposed IT ventures in Vizag, Vijayawada and Anantapur-Chittoor. The Anantapur district administration already identified more than 15,000 acres for various development projects.
The Anantapur-Chittoor corridor is said to be a perfect location for IT corridor. It is less than 100 km from Bangalore airport and would be ideal for the companies to locate their operations as Bangalore has reached its saturation levels. And the biggest advantage is drive will be less than an hour on four line highway from Anantapur to Bangalore airport.
And on the other side, government officials in Tirupati have identified 240 acres, of the 700 acres required for expansion of the domestic airport into an international one. It is said that of the total acquired land, seven acres is under litigation while the remaining stretch is ready for occupation. The rest of the acquiring will take a months time.
