Legendary producer M. S. Raju, whose name is synonymous with celebrated Telugu productions like Manasantha Nuvve, Okkadu, Varsham, and Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana, is now charting an ambitious new course with a mystical divine thriller called Agadha.
Developed over the course of a year with focused creative effort, the film is being released in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi, positioning itself as a true pan India offering at a time when Telugu cinema commands widespread national attention.
The film draws from mythology, mystery, and suspense to craft what promises to be a visually striking and emotionally resonant experience across multiple languages.
Its promotional rollout opened on a lighthearted note, featuring a comedy sketch in which two thieves sneak into MS Raju’s office and become engrossed in the posters of his celebrated earlier films. The mood shifts when they come across an unfamiliar poster, later identified as belonging to Agadha, immediately establishing the film’s eerie, spiritually charged tone.
That atmosphere carries through to the first look poster, which depicts a torch lit cavern cloaked in shadows, an imposing twelve armed divine idol, and a lone girl seen from behind, together creating an image steeped in mystery and sacred dread.
Filmed over 85 days across elaborate constructed sets and real world locations, ‘Agadha’ is produced by Kasi Visalakshi Balusu under Sri Adi Varaha Productions, with close to 45 minutes of VFX content underlining its scale.
Mikkin Arul Dev composes the music, Nani Chamidishetty serves as cinematographer, Junaid Siddiqui handles editing, Rajeev Nair oversees production design, and Chaitanya Vegi contributes the additional screenplay. The film is written and directed by M. S. Raju.
