Music composer GV Prakash Kumar is currently promoting his film Immortal through interviews, as it gears up for a worldwide theatrical release on September 4th.
In one such interview, he opened up about exciting news regarding a potential past collaboration between Sudha Kongara and Mahesh Babu, which is now going viral on social media.
During the interview, when the host asked him why he had only worked on two albums with Vijay, GV Prakash stated that instead of Beast, Vijay was supposed to collaborate with either Vetrimaaran or Sudha Kongara at the time, and he was slated to compose the music. However, because both Vetrimaaran and Sudha Kongara needed a year to work on the script, Vijay collaborated with Nelson Dilipkumar for Beast.
Furthermore, he mentioned that the script Sudha Kongara narrated to Vijay was solid and that she even tried to mount the project with actor Mahesh Babu in Telugu. However, for various reasons, it didn’t take off and the story hasn’t materialized to date. He also claimed that if Sudha Kongara and Mahesh Babu had collaborated on that script, he was supposed to compose the music for that project as well.
In response to this news, many people on social media are suggesting it is good that Vetrimaaran and Vijay didn’t collaborate, as they feel Vetrimaaran might have wasted four years of Vijay’s time with his working style.
At the same time, while some Mahesh Babu fans are happy that Sudha Kongara didn’t collaborate with him, feeling she is not great enough to direct him, as evidenced by the failure of Parasakthi, a few people feel that had it happened, it would have been a solid film for the actor.
They note that before starting Varanasi, Mahesh Babu’s films were largely in the same commercial genre. They claim that even though Sudha Kongara fumbled with Parasakthi, she remains a solid director with a clear vision. Therefore, they feel that if Mahesh Babu and Sudha Kongara had collaborated, it could have given Mahesh Babu strong momentum before working on Varanasi.
Nevertheless, GV Prakash’s revelation about how his opportunities to work with Vijay were missed, along with Sudha Kongara and Mahesh Babu’s potential past collaboration, is now going viral on social media and many people are sharing their reactions to it.
