The writing is clear on the wall. Superstar Mahesh Babu has yet again lost a box office battle with Ram Charan. The two stars have clashed or had same season releases on five occasions with the first one happening to be the debut of Ram Charan, Chirutha. Since then, they had had Naayak-Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu, 1 Nenokkadine and Yevadu, Aagadu-Govindudu Andari Vadele, and finally, Rangasthalam and Bharat Ane Nenu, releasing around the same time.
Just the mention of those names should make it obvious who has had a dominating box office receipts in the Telugu states. Except for Naayak and Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu, the former was slightly higher but could be considered a tie, the rest of the movies have been one-sided fare in Charan’s favour. There is nothing to even debate in those cases. Has Ram Charan become an Achilles heel for Mahesh Babu?
