Renowned music director Mani Sharma, also known as Melody Brahma in Tollywood, recently shared his strong opinions about the current music industry landscape.
During the promotion of his upcoming film “Bedurulanka 2012,” he criticized the trend of releasing one song at a time instead of the entire album altogether.
He said that this approach diminishes the importance and value of the songs. He believes that releasing songs as a single album would have a greater impact on the audience, as some songs may take time to make an impression after repeated listens.
While his perspective may hold merit, times have changed, and film makers today use individual song releases as part of their promotional campaigns. Releasing songs separately allows for multiple virtual events to create buzz each time and increased awareness among the target audience.
Additionally, with people’s busy schedules, listening to one song at a time is preferred to consuming multiple songs all at once, except for hardcore fans who might enjoy the entire album in one go.
