AAY, featuring Narne Nithin in the lead, directed by K. Anji Babu and produced by Bunny Vas under the GA2 Pictures banner, was released over the Independence Day weekend and quickly gained attention for its engaging performances, humor, and music.
In its opening week, AAY outshined Ravi Teja’s Mr. Bachchan and Puri Jagannadh’s Double Ismart, grossing INR 9 crore worldwide.
The film’s strong start led to the addition of 150 new screens in its second week, with continued positive audience response suggesting an even better performance ahead.
In August, another small film, Committee Kurrollu, also performed well, marking Nagababu’s daughter Niharika Konidela’s first successful venture as a producer.
After Allu Arjun attended the Maruthi Nagar Subramanyam film’s pre-release event as the chief guest recently and made some controversial remarks, the film’s awareness increased.
If the film delivers strong content, it could join the list of successful small films released in August.
Meanwhile, the Telugu film industry is pinning its hopes on Nani’s Saripodhaa Sanivaaram. The film is expected to provide a much-needed boost and recover from the setbacks caused by recent disasters like Double iSmart and Mr. Bachchan.
