Ravi Teja the Mass Maharaja is going through a very patchy phase in his career with one film bombing after another. His only relief was Dhamaka in 2022. Apart from that, films like Khiladi, Ramarao on Duty, Ravanasura, Tiger Nageswara Rao, Eagle and his last release, Mr. Bachchan have all been huge disasters one after the other.
Now, he is set to release his next film Mass Jathara hoping that an out-and-out mass entertainer will bring back his mojo. Unfortunately, the film faces a tough clash. On one hand, Baahubali: The Epic is opening big, generating tremendous word-of-mouth after paid premieres. On the other hand, extreme weather conditions in Andhra are affecting.
In North America Ravi Teja’s films traditionally struggle and Mass Jathara wasn’t expected to perform well there anyway. In fact, the team even postponed and canceled Thursday premieres opting for a Friday release reflects it.
Given the current lineup and circumstances, only solid content can bail out Ravi Teja. If Mass Jathara delivers just a routine, formulaic mass entertainer it may not be enough to draw audiences into theaters.
So, the big question remains: will Ravi Teja get his much-needed relief, or will Mass Jathara mark his fifth flop in a row? We’ll find out very soon. Mass Jathara is produced by Naga Vamsi on Sithara Entertainments who is going through a rough time.
