Music Director Biased Towards Tamil Cinema?

Director Karthik Subbaraj and actor Suriya have started filming their new project, Suriya 44. They announced the commencement of shooting on Sunday through a video, exciting fans who loved seeing Suriya in a retro look.

The announcement video features music by Santhosh Narayanan, which has received praise on social media for its powerful background score. One user commented, “SaNa music is on loop mode!”

The background music (BGM) has greatly enhanced the promo, adding intrigue and excitement to the film.

However, some Telugu social media users expressed disappointment, feeling that Santhosh Narayanan’s music for Telugu films has been subpar compared to his work in Tamil cinema.

They pointed out that his scores for films like Saindhav are not as impressive. Even in the upcoming Prabhas film, Kalki 2898 AD, the background score by SaNa has not been very outstanding so far. Some parts of it seem heavily inspired by the BGM from the Telugu Bigg Boss show.

This has led Telugu Twitter users to feel that Santhosh Narayanan is biased towards Tamil cinema and does not give his best effort in Telugu films.

Karthik Subbaraj had earlier announced that the first schedule of Suriya 44 had begun in Port Blair, Andaman. Pooja Hegde is playing the female lead, with Jayaram, Joju George, and others in supporting roles.
