The kind of turbulences that are being observed in the software industry have been beyond ordinary as tough times appear to be ahead of us. The worst part here is that some of the biggest companies in the world, including Microsoft have been firing employees.
Last night, it was communicated that Microsoft has conveyed to its global workforce that they would be offering 60,000 voluntary exit positions by the end of the year.
The candidates be the vice presidential position at Microsoft in major countries like the United States, India, UK and others can take up this voluntary exit program. This is a part of the elaborate plan of Microsoft to reduce the human workforce.
On that note, the latest social media post that was shared by a software engineer who apparently works at Microsoft Hyderabad is saying that he has received ₹11 lakh as exit package from Microsoft.
Apparently, this individual is a 23 year old male who had been working at Microsoft for three years and he has received a severance package of three months which roughly converts to ₹11 lakh.
This individual said that he is contemplating whether to take the severance package, which is a significant one and move to a different company or whether to stick with Microsoft.
On a related note, there is another viral Reddit post where another individual claimed that he had been with Microsoft for 14 years, and he is receiving around ₹63 lakh as exit package. He said he has a toddler at his house and can use the break that is being offered.
There are several such posts that are going viral on social media, where people who have worked with Microsoft for many years have been publicly claiming that they are contemplating whether to take the package and leave the company. This has become a major public topic of discussion already.
