Nani is not happy with the Pan-India Tag being attached to south films. He questioned why only South Indian films called “Pan-India” when they become popular across the country, while Hindi films continue to be called Hindi films even after finding success in the South.
While talking about The Paradise Nani brought up Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan and Pathaan as examples. Both films had a strong reach in South India, but they were never labelled Pan-India films. Nani questioned why the same doesn’t apply when a South Indian film reaches audiences in multiple regions.
Nani has previously said that he does not want The Paradise to be labelled a Pan-India film. His point is not about releasing the film in different languages. He is questioning why the tag is needed mainly for films coming from the South.
The Paradise is releasing in multiple languages on September 24. With the film’s release approaching, Nani’s comments have again brought attention to the way films from different industries are labelled.
