Niharika Konidela Slams Filmfare: Why Silence Debut Winners?

Niharika Konidela Slams Filmfare Awards

The prestigious 70th Filmfare South Awards ceremony was held recently in a grand manner in Kochi, Kerala. The event turned into a visual treat, with top stars from the Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam industries attending in glamorous outfits. Photos and videos from the night are now going viral on social media. The awards honored films that were released in 2024 across the South Indian film industries. Allu Arjun won the Filmfare Award for Best Actor for his performance in Pushpa 2.

While the event celebrated many winners and outstanding performances, one particular issue has now become a talking point. Actor and producer Niharika Konidela, daughter of Naga Babu, expressed her disappointment regarding how debut award winners were treated at the ceremony.

Niharika shared a heartfelt message reflecting on her experience at the Filmfare Awards. She praised the brilliance of Indian cinema and said that watching so much talent under one roof was truly special. However, she also pointed out what she felt was a missed opportunity.

According to her, debut winners from Telugu, Tamil, and Kannada cinema were not given a chance to speak on stage. She emphasized that first time winners deserve a voice on such a prestigious platform.

She wrote that for an artist who is just beginning their journey, standing on that stage is not just about receiving an award. It is the moment when their dream becomes reality. She said that hearing their voices would have reminded everyone why they fell in love with cinema in the first place.

Niharika acknowledged that time constraints are unavoidable in large scale award shows. However, she strongly felt that even one minute should not be denied to someone standing on that stage for the very first time.

“Debut winners deserve a voice on stage because that one minute can become a lifetime memory,” she expressed.

Her statement has now sparked discussion online, with many agreeing that new talents should be given a chance to speak and share their gratitude on such a big platform.
