Allu Arjun recently delivered a pleasant surprise by becoming the first Telugu actor ever to win the National award for best actor. He achieved this feat with Pushpa.
Now, the stage is set for Pushpa 2 as the makers have announced that the film has locked 15 August as its release date.
This essentially means that the second part is releasing nearly three years after the first part. This is arguably a big delay and more so, given that Allu Arjun didn’t do any films in between.
However, no one can really complain about Allu Arjun after all that he did with Pushpa. The film was a blockbuster in Hindi, and the hype shot up further after he won the national award. So there is the obvious need to deliver a grade-A product.
Moreover, Pushpa was released in a hurried manner without any promotions in the Hindi belt. Perhaps the decision to go for a delayed release this time could be to come with a quality product and also have enough time to create a winning promotional campaign.
And also, 15 Aug is obviously a national holiday – Independence Day and it falls on Thursday. There is a chance for a long weekend with 3 out of the total 4 days in the weekend being holidays. If the talk is good, then Pushpa will have a monstrous weekend, thanks to the sequel advantage. So, this is very much ha calculated move from the makers.
