Few years ago, America had denied Visa for Narendra Modi making him responsible for the communal riots in Gujarat in 2002. It was a National issue then and a big humiliation to Modi then being denied visa in the position of Gujarat Chief Minister. Times have changed and now Modi is the Prime Minister of India. Winds are now blowing in Modi’s way and US President Barack Obama has sent a letter through US Deputy Secretary of State William Burns.
Burns delivered Modi the letter written by Obama inviting him to US. Narendra Modi has agreed to the invitation and promised to visit the country in September later this year. Modi is scheduled to visit US in September for the UN General Assembly in New York. Following the Obama invite, Modi will head to Washington to meet Obama and take India-US relationship forward.
