All the big five films which crossed $1 million at the overseas box-office namely Trivikram’s ‘A… Aa…’ ($2.5 M), NTR’s ‘Janata Garage’ ($1.8 M), Suriya’s ’24′($1.6 M), Mahesh Babu’s ‘Brahmotsavam’ ($1.5 M) and Vijay’s ‘Theri’ ($1.13 M) have Samantha playing the female protagonist.
No hero came close to this heroine in the overseas and hence she turned out to be the overseas ruler of 2016. She is the most sought after actress in both Telugu and Tamil film industries and 2016 saw her reigning as the box-office queen of commercial cinema.
