Will SK Grab Vijay’s Date? Parasakthi Deadline OUT

Parasakthi Pongal release update

With Jana Nayagan unlikely to hit screens on January 9 due to certification delays, industry attention has shifted to Parasakthi. Trade circles are urging the team to consider the now-vacant date.

Sivakarthikeyan’s Parasakthi was first scheduled for a January 14 release. The date was later advanced to January 10, setting up a direct clash with Vijay’s Jana Nayagan during the Pongal season.

After news of Jana Nayagan’s postponement, trade experts believe Parasakthi should move to January 9. A Friday release could give the film an extra day in its opening weekend and boost box office collections.

However, Parasakthi’s release plans are also under doubt. Reports suggest the film has not yet received its censorship certificate. For a January 10 release, the certificate must be issued by today evening.

Several trackers have reacted strongly to the situation. They claim the Central Board of Film Certification is risking the Kollywood Pongal slot. They warn that another postponement could invite serious backlash.

Meanwhile, some Vijay fans on social media are making unverified claims. They speculate that Parasakthi may have already secured clearance and is delaying the announcement deliberately.

These fans allege political involvement, naming the ruling DMK and the Central Government. They argue that an early clearance for Parasakthi could have raised questions if Jana Nayagan faced hurdles.

At present, these remain social media rumours. There is no official confirmation on Parasakthi’s censorship status. It remains to be seen whether the film releases on January 10 and makes full use of the Pongal holiday window.
