One of the few better films from Pawan Kalyan in recent years is OG. The way in which he was stylishly presented in the film, and also the commercial packaging of the same versus reasonably good by Director Sujeeth.
Apart from that, all other films from Kalyan have been poor quality. Particularly his latest film Ustad Bhagat Singh is turning out to be one of the biggest loss ventures and disasters in recent years.
The big question now is whether Kalyan would actually be making a strong comeback in the future, considering his already busy political commitments. It is for a fact that Kalyan cannot fully focus on films in the near future as he has a bigger responsibility in AP politics, and that is understandable.
So what he needs now is a capable director who can effectively design a strong project with limited availability from Kalyan. This is where most of his recent directors, including the experience advance have been struggling.
Considering that Kalyan is confirmed to collaborate with Surender Reddy for his next project, things are volatile again. Surender might have been a director with a good vision and style sense in the past but his Agent with Akhil is still a traumatising film.
So there is simply a blank with regard to expectation from the collaboration of Kalyan and Surender Reddy. If the Director can somehow surprise everyone and come up with a stylish action film, it is a win win situation. But nothing is for granted.
All fans can do now, is patiently wait for Kalyan to find the spark within him sometime in the future, to possibly make a comeback or fully confine himself to politics.
