A two-year-old interview of Allu Sirish with M9 News has gone viral on social media all of a sudden. Sirish is seen saying Allu Arjun has a dedicated team for the last ten years and it has expanded further after the Pan-India image.
He said the team takes care of everything.
Trolls on social media are writing weird things vilifying Allu Arjun for having a team.
It is not the case only with Allu Arjun, we see trolls posting negative things about stars maintaining PR teams.
But then, anyone aware of how the industry works feels this is silly.
In the last few years, Media and Social Media have not been what they were a decade back.
There are numerous media houses and multiple social media platforms. Even though the availability is high, artists often struggle to garner right reach for their work.
It has become a challenge for them to get noticed in this clutter.
The difficulties are different for different actors. For small heroes, creating a small base for them is crucial and for big stars like Allu Arjun, NTR, Ram Charan, and others, it is important to reach out to the audience in the nook and corner of the country.
A country with more than 110 Crore population, the cinema-going population is still very small, and even with that population, it is not like a star can cover everyone.
With ballooning budgets and towering remunerations, it is important that the actors invest in expanding their markets.
In fact, for many actors today having a good PR or a bad PR is a significant difference for their careers.
While the trolls target actors for having PR teams, almost all heroes have PR teams.
If the heroes involve, strategize, and work with their PR teams, the results are good.
Not taking names, all the heroes who are doing good in their careers work closely with their PR teams.
The stars with Pan-India are having a local team for Telugu while maintaining multiple PR agencies in the North to better their reach.
In fact, the PR culture in Tollywood is still in a nascent stage. We only have individuals operating as PRs for heroes. In Bollywood and Hollywood, there are big corporate companies operating as PR agencies.
Trolls have made the word ‘PR’ a cussword in social media, but it is just their ignorance of how the industry works.
