The excitement surrounding Prabhas’ Spirit continues to grow with every update, and producer Bhushan Kumar has now shared some interesting insights into the film.
Speaking to Faridoon Shahryar, Bhushan revealed that he has already watched a few scenes from the shoot and was highly impressed with what Sandeep Reddy Vanga is creating.
“I’ve watched a few scenes from the shoot. They look absolutely fabulous. Once again, Sandeep Reddy Vanga is creating something truly special,” he said.
Bhushan also dismissed the notion that Spirit is built around an unconventional story. According to him, the film is fundamentally a cop drama with strong emotions. Prabhas plays a police officer who also has a wife and a personal life, making the emotional aspect an important part of the narrative. However, he believes the uniqueness lies not in the story itself but in Vanga’s execution.
“It’s not a different story. It’s a cop story with emotions. But the way Sandeep Reddy Vanga is executing the film is something audiences haven’t seen before. It’s a drama presented in a completely new way,” Bhushan explained.
He also praised the director’s dedication, saying Vanga thinks only about work.
According to Bhushan, there are no egos involved in the filmmaking process. The director is completely focused on making the best possible film and is going all out to deliver a memorable theatrical experience.
These comments have further raised expectations among Prabhas fans, many of whom believe the Prabhas-Sandeep Reddy Vanga collaboration has the potential to redefine the commercial cop genre.
At the same time, the statements also set the bar extremely high.
If Bhushan Kumar’s comments are anything to go by, Spirit is not trying to reinvent the cop story. It is trying to reinvent how a cop story is told.
