A while back, young filmmakers Gowtam Tinnanuri and Sailesh Kolanu toured Bollywood with the Hindi remake of Jersey, and HIT respectively. But this isn’t a one-time thing from Tollywood as we are seeing more directors engaging with the Bollywood side of things now.
The latest update is that Prasanth Varma is set to direct Ranveer Singh for his upcoming film which could hit the floors even before Jai Hanuman. Mythri Movie Makers are funding this film, say reports.
This is a big deal to see Tollywood’s own Prasanth Varma materializing a film with a Bollywood superstar like Ranveer Singh.
At the same time, there is also a narrative that Vamshi Paidipally is likely to work with Shahid Kapoor for his next film. If this project also materializes, then he would be another addition to the list of Telugu directors venturing into Bollywood.
We must also note that Gopichand Malineni is also doing a Hindi film with Sunny Deol which is also funded by Mythri.
The primary reason here is that all the mainstream stars in Tollywood are occupied with their subsequent films for multiple years. So, instead of waiting for elongated periods, the Telugu filmmakers appear to be approaching Bollywood stars. This is a wise move to utilize the time. But the most important thing of course is to deliver packed hits.
