Dream Lineup but Ram Charan’s Future Hangs on Peddi?

Ram Charan's upcoming films after Peddi

Peddi is easily one of the most important films of Ram Charan’s career following the disastrous box-office performance of Game Changer. As a result, both the actor and the team are leaving no stone unturned in their promotional campaign.

While all focus is currently on Peddi release on June 4, discussions have already shifted toward Ram Charan’s future lineup.

According to industry buzz, Charan is expected to move on to RC17 with director Sukumar after Peddi. Reports suggest the actor is currently dealing with a few minor injuries and plans to undergo surgery before joining the film’s shoot once he fully recovers. The project may not go on floors immediately, as the script is still being finalized and pre-production work is expected to take a few more months.

Interestingly, film circles are now abuzz with reports that Charan has already begun lining up projects beyond RC17 as well.

One of the strongest rumors doing the rounds is a potential collaboration with Prashanth Neel. The KGF and Salaar director is currently busy with Dragon starring Jr. NTR, but industry insiders claim that a Ram Charan–Prashanth Neel project has already been discussed and is moving in a positive direction. However, fans may have to wait a few years for that combination, as Neel is expected to take up Salaar 2 after completing Dragon. While no official announcement has been made, the combination is already generating massive excitement given Neel’s track record with large-scale action spectacles.

At the same time, there is also speculation that Charan has shown interest in a potential collaboration with acclaimed Bollywood filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Reports suggest the project could be a period drama, though details remain under wraps.

If the ongoing buzz proves accurate, Ram Charan could have one of the most ambitious lineups among Indian stars. A sequence featuring Sukumar, Prashanth Neel, and Sanjay Leela Bhansali would represent a mix of mass commercial cinema, large-scale action storytelling, and grand historical drama.

For now, however, everything depends on Peddi. The film’s performance will determine the momentum with which Ram Charan moves into the next phase of his career. If Peddi doesn’t deliver, Charan may have to rethink, strategize, and replan his lineup. The pressure will increase significantly, and even Sukumar’s film might go through a lot of changes if Peddi falls short of expectations.

While the future looks exciting on paper, Ram Charan’s immediate challenge remains Peddi. The success or failure of the film could shape the narrative around his career for the next few years.
