The Vijay starrer Sarkar directed by AR Murugadoss is looking to become the first genuine success for the star in the Telugu states. It is the best performing movie in Diwali period right now.

The only competition Sarkar had was from the Telugu movie Savyasachi that came last week. It got a disastrous word of mouth sealing its fate and giving Sarkar a virtually open release in festival time. The Murugadoss movie was brought at reasonable rates, and the openings ensured that it was going to be a safe venture. It’s hit status would be known based on how soon it breaks even.
The Tamil version is doing sensational business and setting new milestones for Tamil cinema. It has already crossed 100 Cr Gross and continues to run successfully. In the overseas too, Sarkar (Tamil) is performing phenomenally. The business of Theri (Policeodu in Telugu) has already been crossed and the chase in on to reach Mersal (Adirindi) numbers.
