The cinema ticket pricing system has turned tricky. While the ticket hikes are helping big event films like RRR and KGF 2, they showed a huge negative effect on films like Acharya and Radhe Shyam which couldn’t get garner good reviews.
Cut to now, Sarkaru Vaari Paata unit has approached the Telangana government, seeking Rs 50 hike in ticket prices for 1 week. If that is approved, the ticket prices will be capped at Rs 354 at multiplexes and Rs 210 at single screens.
RRR and KGF 2 have shown that the audience are ready to pay big bucks to watch big event films. But at the same time, Radhe Shyam and Acharya have shown that the audience will bluntly reject a film if it doesn’t deserve the hefty ticket price tag. As it appears, Sarkaru Vaari Paata is indeed taking this risk.
Sarkaru Vaari Paata has an entertaining trailer and it is the first big-ticket action-comedy entertainer to release after an overdose of mass films like RRR, Akhanda, KGF 2 and Pushpa. But the ticket price hikes is a double edged sword and we should wait and see how Sarkaru Vaari Paata fares.
