The Telugu dancers union dispute has taken another turn, with Satya Master now openly questioning the leadership of Jani Master’s wife, Sumalatha.
What makes his comments more interesting is that Satya says he had previously voted for Sumalatha and continues to consider Jani Master like a brother. Yet, he makes it clear that he cannot stand behind the present leadership.
His sharpest remark came while questioning the way the ongoing issues are being handled. Satya compared the dancers’ union to a large mansion housing around 600 people and asked whether the entire building should be set on fire because of four “rats.” He then alleged that a bigger corruption issue exists within the same setup and questioned the leadership’s role in it.
Satya also raised allegations over membership cards and elections, claiming that around 200 retired dancers were allegedly being given new membership cards to influence the outcome. He said he has evidence to support his claim. These remain allegations made by Satya and have not been independently established.
Interestingly, Satya says the real issue should be the ordinary dancers and their livelihoods, rather than turning the dispute into a fight between choreographers.
With fresh elections scheduled for October 11 after the previous executive committee was dissolved, his comments add another sharp voice to an already messy union battle.
